- CrossFit Level 1 Trainer
I grew up in a suburb outside of St. Paul, Minnesota. We lived in a very active family that loved to ski and ride horses. I played numerous sports in high school, but wrestling was my favorite sport and still is to this day. I worked at a local bike shop and would travel all over Minnesota and Wisconsin in the summer chasing mountain bike races. I went to college at Colorado State University where I graduated with a degree in Construction Management and have been working for the same general contractor for the past 18 years. The projects that we complete are not just big boxes or office buildings, but a mixture of schools, libraries, recreation centers, and other places that really make a difference in the communities we build in. My wife and I have been married for 15 years and have two daughters, Harper (9) and Everly (6). Both of my daughters are active in swimming, basketball, and gymnastics.
Prior to joining CrossFit, my passion was triathlons. I am still part of a triathlon club called Altitude Multisport Club. I heard numerous friends at work talking about CrossFit and could see their results over time. I was always interested in new training regimes, so I decided to give Crossfit a try. I had a project that was out of town and decided to join the small gym in that community. I was instantly hooked. I absolutely loved the intensity and being with a group that would push you every day.
The project finished up, but I knew my love for CrossFit had not. I was looking for a gym that was close to home and found Grail in November of 2018. After a few drop-in classes, I knew this would be my new home, as the community and coaching was amazing and very welcoming. I continued to show up every day, give it my all and noticed changes every single day.
I love not only seeing my own personal gains, but the huge improvements in health and lifestyle for other members in our community. Just like my full-time job, I have a passion for making life better for people every single day. There is nothing better than seeing the smiles on faces and knowing that you have made a difference.
My QUEST: My quest is to come in everyday with a positive attitude and be the best coach, friend, and mentor I can be. I want to be a positive role model for my children and show them the importance of fitness in our lives. I want to continue to live a healthy life so my wife and I can be active and enjoy retirement together in the future.
