We are half-way through 2020. Can you believe it?!?! We started the year excited and motivated. We set new fitness goals and started seeing progress. Then March came and COVID-19 changed our lives. We ended up changing our life to work at home – or not being able to work at all. Some of you may have had to become home school teachers. We couldn’t go to stores or socialize as before. You may have adjusted to working out at home or stopped working out completely. On the positive side, maybe you were enjoying more home-cooked meals. But also being at home all day just a few feet from the kitchen may have led to excessive snacking and the stress of it all drove you to make less than healthy food choices.
So what happens now and where to do you go from here? For one, CrossFit Grail is OPEN! Yes, workouts in the gym resumed last month! It may look a little different as we all keep our physical distance, but it is your safe place to forget your problems and work on your fitness for an hour a day! A little bit of normalcy has been restored!
What else? It’s time to REGROUP & REFOCUS. Just like at the beginning of the year when we set new goals. Goal check-ins for this year included ‘competing in Festivus,’ ‘do a pull-up,’ or ‘lose xx pounds.’ Then competitions were cancelled, no gym meant no pull-up practice, and for some, being at home 24/7 made it difficult to focus on nutrition.
