Over the holidays we are reminded how special this place is when handing out awards during the Grail’s Annual WOD & Awards. It is always refreshing to review the previous year and the accomplishments of our members.
Did you know that you, our members, achieved 1,288 Personal Records in 2018? How about the fact that we trained members 11,849 times? You also lifted 545 1 Rep Maxes for over 18,900 pounds! In total you lifted 194,900 pounds last year. What an accomplishment and the results are definitely visible and obvious. I won’t go into individual accomplishments, but I will say that thousands of pounds lifted, hundreds of pounds of fat lost, and Personal Records blown away month after month tell us that this place is truly special.
To continue those results, we are getting ready to kick off our most comprehensive 12-Week Nutrition Plan to date. We aren’t playing games here. This is an all-out war on premature death and nutrition is at least 70% of the effort to get there. We are trained, prepped, and ready to go to war by your side! Late last year we kicked off two new video ways to communicate with you that included the Monday Message and Food for Thought Friday. The Monday Message is a long form way to communicate about answers to your questions – why we do what we do, how we do it, and where we are headed next. Food for Thought Friday is Michelle’s way to give you quick and actionable tips and reminders about nutrition. The coaches are excited to announce our new programming idea, Benchmark Sundays. Once a month (the 2nd Sunday) we will be hosting a benchmark workout during Open Gym on Sunday. The first one is scheduled for January 13th at 9:00 am. This is not a class, but an opportunity to work with others to get a benchmark in. Benchmarks are important because they give us feedback on our strengths and weaknesses. We have trained, we have practiced, now it is time to put it all to the test.
