We just finished another great month – the Fourth of July HERO WOD, hiking the Manitou Incline and of course, FUNNY T-Shirts all around! And if you showed up on Fridays for the last 6 weeks, you definitely built up your ‘Lats’ strength to be able to get closer to stringing together multiple strict Pull-Ups! It was great seeing so much improvement and all those personal records on the white board!

As usual, your RESULTS are our focus and for this month, along with our Wendler Front Squat and Bench Press, we turn our attention to Push-Up strength and technique progressions. Last Friday was the Max Effort baseline. Now I know – Push-Ups just aren’t as sexy as Pull-Ups or Muscle-Ups. They are underrated in the strength and conditioning world. Why? Because many people do them wrong! For instance – elbows flaring, hands placed too high or too wide, sagging in the core, or just limited range of motion to do a ‘partial’ push-up. When it comes to Push-Ups, your CORE is KING for stability! But put it all together and you are working to some degree most of your back muscles, pectoralis (chest) muscles, triceps, and even those ‘lats!’ We are going to work on all of that! So don’t miss a Friday for your Push-Up progressions!

There are always events going on at the Grail! On August 13, we start our 28-Day Nutrition ReBoot Challenge with a Kick-off Seminar on August 11! Not to mention, Women, WOD & Wine on August 10 at 6pm and Barbells, Bros and Brews on August 24 at 6pm. These are open to both members and non-members.
