Giving Back – It’s Not What You Think

Giving Back.  It seems a simple enough concept. When we came up with our Core Values, giving back was key for why we created this business. Giving back is not about charity.

Many of you might think it means providing charity, such as our upcoming Barbell for Boobs event. Yes, it does in a minor way, but that is not what our Core Value is. Charity is important, but what really drives us is making a direct impact on people’s lives, not only now, but for the rest of their lives.

We live in interesting times. It’s all about instant gratification and technology. We live in the age where a child without a smart phone is a rarity and having 3 televisions at home is considered normal. Food is as easy to get as saying, “super-size me”. For many of us, we are lucky enough to experience an overabundance in our lives.

Sugar dominates our diets. Our schedules are full from morning to evening. ADHD, diabetes, sleep disorders, hormonal imbalances, and other chronic diseases are all familiar terms. But not to worry, our televisions are full of ads for medications that can help dull the symptoms by adding a plethora of new side effects – or just effects.

It is predicted that over 70% of all deaths in the United States are premature due to chronic disease. CrossFit has proven that through exercise and diet, a great amount of premature deaths can be prevented. When we decided to open CrossFit Grail, we wanted to sell the most valuable commodity that any of us have. LIFE. We want to Give Back Your LIFE.

So when you hear our core value ‘Giving Back’, please remember, it isn’t about charity. It is about so much more than that. It is about YOU, your family, and our community.

It is a pleasure working with our athletes and knowing we are not just increasing your longevity, but also your quality of life now and forever.

In health,
