As one year ends and another one begins, we take stock of our lives and think about our health and our loved ones – and taking care of our loved ones if something should happen to us. If you are of a certain age and have accumulated some ‘stuff,’ have a family, a mortgage….well, financial responsibilities…you start thinking about life insurance.
But life insurance is not for you. It’s for your family. You don’t get the money, but it provides your family with security. Lots of people have life insurance. They want to take care of their family after they are gone, and they want to make sure their family is financially secure if something should happen to them. The same applies to home, car, and travel insurance; the money comes after something unforeseen happens.
Although we do our best to plan for the worst, we also want to have a life plan, which involves making good decisions to help us live as long as possible. We don’t just want to plan for the worst, we want to plan for the best! We must plan to live. And not just live but live the highest quality of life possible. What an amazing idea!
While we can’t always prevent bad events from happening, when it comes to our health, there is a lot we can do to improve our health and extend our life. For example, by achieving and maintaining a healthy weight, you will significantly reduce your risk of Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, stroke, cancers, high blood pressure, breathing issues and arthritis.
If you’re reading this, you have an interest in your health. Maybe you are a current or former client/member, or maybe you are just interested in the nutrition and fitness services we offer. This means you are thinking about prevention through building muscle, strengthening bones, improving blood work, reducing stress and eliminating fat. These are all things that will help you plan to live.
The issue is: EXERCISE ISN’T ENOUGH.
If you are trapped in a room with two zombies, and you kill one, do you still have a problem? The answer is chasing you!
While exercise is one piece of the puzzle, 80% of your efforts should be spent on proper nutrition and diet. If you follow our social media, blog posts, Food for Thought Friday and Message of the Day, you can see we focus a lot on nutrition. We emphasize getting people healthy and fit through nutrition first, then exercise. We help you kill both zombies through proper training and nutrition.
If you work out and eat better, you are going to set yourself up for success and prevent disease. It’s not easy, but nothing in life that’s worth achieving is. When you eat well without exercise or train well but eat poorly, you still have half of your problems.
You should probably look in into life insurance and plan to take care of your family after you are gone. But before you do, I encourage you to focus on improving and preserving your health through proper nutrition and exercise. Stay active, train hard, and optimize your diet. Do everything you can do to live a long and healthy life!
If you missed the deadline for the 12-Week Personal Transformation, don’t fret. We have Nutrition options to get you on track and keep you on track with your nutrition. And since we are passionate about helping you be the healthiest you possible, we are going to keep talking about nutrition!
